01 / FINDING

What the study reports

Two Fabry–Pérot resonator arrays flank a microperforated plate. Coupling degenerate monopole and dipole responses enables broadband acoustic control; the abstract reports 99% absorption across 200–2000 Hz and a vacuum-cleaner demonstration with airflow. [1]

02 / BOUNDARY

What this does not establish

Abstract-level assessment: measurement geometry, airflow rate, pressure drop and uncertainty were not reviewed. The reported λ/107 is a cumulative interaction length at 200 Hz; it must not be read as the full device thickness.

03 / INTERPRETATION

Our engineering reading

Our interpretation is that coordinated resonances offer a useful route for ventilated noise control, but application comparisons need equal airflow and pressure-drop conditions.

Editorial interpretation; not an additional measured result.
