01 / FINDING

What the study reports

An origami-inspired skeleton and interlayer fiber network reinforce nanofiber aerogels against delamination. The abstract reports compressive stress of 548.02 kPa at 80% strain, tensile deformation approaching 40% before interlayer failure, a near-zero Poisson ratio and axial thermal conductivity of 0.035 W m−1 K−1. 02 / BOUNDARY

What this does not establish

This peer-reviewed accepted early article is not yet the final Version of Record. The complete methods were not reviewed: temperature, density, test direction and uncertainty must be checked before comparison. High-strain compressive stress is not a small-strain modulus. Proposed aerospace use is not qualification.

03 / INTERPRETATION

Our engineering reading

In our interpretation, interlayer architecture is a useful design variable alongside composition. Application assessment should compare directional heat flow and durability at equal density and service conditions.

Editorial interpretation; not an additional measured result.
